The Magdalene College Kipling Manuscript — exciting news

AFTER THREE YEARS in preparation, the facsimile of this thoroughly  intriguing manuscript of Rudyard Kipling’s poems,  which was presented to Magdalene College by his widow, will be published in March. Cambridge University Press has worked closely with the College to produce a superb volume, which shows the early versions of  both well-known and less well-known poems in Kipling’s own hand. Written originally on thin blue paper, the manuscript illuminates the way Kipling worked and reworked his poems, as well as preserving many doodles and squiggles which provide a wonderful and evocative sense of the poet sitting at his desk. It is possible to pre-order the book on line.
